For our new series, Ancient Words for Modern Issues, the elder team decided it would be a good idea to tackle some of the pressing issues of today. There are so many factors leading to the current crises we see around us, but have you ever stopped to think what God might be trying to say in the middle of all this? In this series we are going to look to some of the Old Testament Prophets to find the answers.<div class="feedflare">

A recent insurance ad campaign asks a very deep question. Using a pillar as an image, the question asked is, &quot; What matters to you?&quot; In this series we will be taking a look at the objects of our worship. When you think of worship, it may bring a certain style of music to mind, or your weekly experience at church. In reality, the object or heart issue that you attach the most value to is the thing you worship. We will examine the items we place on the top of our column, and talk about why anything on this column other than Jesus will fail us.What Matters to You?: Baptism &amp; Communion<div class="feedflare">

&quot;Building a Healthy New Church&quot;, is a series, based on the New Testament book of Titus. Titus was written by Paul to a man he had trained and is now serving as a missionary pastor who is planting new churches. Our study of this book will help us as a church as we continue to define our mission and establish our character.<div class="feedflare">

Our culture is one with lots of ideas about spirituality, and all kinds of ideas about Jesus. Sometimes it is difficult to know which ideas about Jesus represent who he really was, and which ideas are myths. During December, we will take a different approach to understanding Jesus as he is presented in the Gospels, as we examine some of the Myths from our culture about him.<div class="feedflare">

A Children&apos;s nursery rhyme asks, &quot; How does your garden grow?&quot; The rhyme speaks of things like silver bells, cockle shells, and maids, which might be great in fairy tale land, but in the real world, a great garden takes a significant amount of work. Whenever you pass by a beautiful flower garden, or a fantastic vegetable garden, you know that the owner of the garden, you know that the owner of the garden had spent a significant amount of time working the ground, planting seeds, cultivating plants, and watering the garden. No quick fixes for a great garden. The same is true for growth in the life of a Christ&#45;follower. In this new series, Gardening for Dummies, mike will be using the analogy of a garden to explain some of the disciplines necessary for growth in the Christian life.<div class="feedflare">

August 13, 1993 proved to be a memorable day for Brian Brasher, and the six other passengers on their 8&#45;passenger, twin&#45;engine plane. Flying over the Bering Sea on a day where the water temperature was 36 degrees with 3&#45;6 foot swells, their plane began to experience problems, which eventually led to both engines going out. With nowhere else to land, the plane crashed into the sea. Rescuers were dispatched with seven body bags, as no one had ever survived longer than 15 minutes in water that temperature, and no one had ever survived a crash in the Bering Sea. After nearly 65 minutes since the crash, Brian Brasher was rescued from the water. He was the seventh, and final passenger of the plane to be rescued. None of the body bags were needed.<div class="feedflare">

Placing your trust in another person is never an easy task. Placing your trust in someone doing things beyond your wildest imagination is even harder. Peter experienced this first&#45;hand when he asked Jesus if he could join Him as He walked on the water. This is a perfect example of the struggle that faces every Christian. Do we stay where we are, where we know to be safe and comfortable, or d
